My support of Al-Hikam comes from my desire to make a positive change in my own life and for anyone else I can help change for the better. The things each of us do today, doesn’t just effect our own ‘now.’ They will go on to affect others as well in the near and distant future. So as individuals, British citizens, and Muslims, our responsibility to the wider community and Ummah –brotherhood, is undeniable.
So I’m here for two reasons: 1 -Because I want to improve my own faith and adherence to my religion. 2 –Because I hope more young people in the UK will be guided away from the destructive forces of our society today, and back to a more natural, positive and productive way of life through faith.
Many young Muslim people feel overwhelmed by current social issues and the pressures of being part of two different worlds. Often they have difficulty tackling these issues and have nowhere to turn. I believe Al-Hikam offers them genuine support and guidance in this sense. We’re doing great work. The only thing I can wish for is that eventually the wider public realize how accessible we are, and find that we’re here to offer support and guidance to everyone, whether or not they’re of the Islamic faith.
